As you can see a lot of fights that ended fast and most in the 1st round. So lets go into the championship fights. For the first fight it was Adam King VS Alex Corrales.

This was the fight for the Interim Flyweight Championship. It was the fast Alex Corrales VS Adam King. So this fight was a lot of punches and no ground game. It only toke Adam Young 1:26 to TKO Alex and take the Interim Flyweight Championship. Congratulation to Adam.

The next fight would be for the lightweight Championship between.. William Hill and Ryan Truitt. This fight was a good it was all other the place on teh ground and standing. It would come to the second round when it was all William. Will would knock down Ryan with a punch to the head that would have ended the fight but the umpire did not call off the fight he keep them fighting. So about a minute after that knock down Will would get on Ryan on make him tap due to a choke. That would end the fight and make Will the NEW FCFF lightweight Championship! Congratulations to Will with that win.

The next fight was for the Middle Superweight Championship. It would be a fight Between Brysen French VS Nathan Allen. This fight was a GREAT fight to watch it would be even fight in the 1st round but in the second it was different story. With on 34 seconds left Brysen would KO Nathan and would win the Middle superweight! Congratulations to Brysen!

Now to the main fight of the night it would be Chris DeLaRocha VS Dylan Clark. I will say thsi now it was a one sided fight. It was all Chris would take contrail of this fight and leave it that wasy it only toke him 1:29 to end the fight in the 1st round. So CONGRATULATIONS to Chris.

Here is the fight card for the four fights.

HWT Championship
Chris De La Rocha def. Dylan Clark - Medical Stoppage at 1:29 or Rd. 1
Chris De La Rocha remains the FCFF Heavyweight Champion

Middleweigh Superfight

Fight #4!

Hello fans and Welcome to the ITO and it is time to RUMBBLLEE!!

So fans what you are about to jump into is the fight of the night. It is the fight for the Heavyweight Title Belt. You have the Belt holder Chris DeLaRocha from Washington and Dylan Clark from Oregon. I will say my restores were limited on this fight so sorry if it is shorter then the last blogs. So lets jump in to this fight!

Chris DeLaRocha has a record of 2-0 and holds the Belt for the FCFF Heavyweight Devon. Chris has fought only twice and has won both of his fights. He won the belt with a TKO in the second round last time he fought which was Rumble 57. So he has had less then 6 months to get ready for this fight. He is a good fighter and I am looking for a good fight from him.

Now the opponent of Chris is Dylan Clark. This is his first time stepping the ring in PDX. I hope he comes out in his first fight and lights up the world!

Lets see how these guys face up!

Chris DeLaRocha:
Amateur Record: 2-0-0 (Win-Loss-Draw)
Team:
Age: 32
Sex: Male
Height: 6 Feet. 4 Inch(es).
Weight: 245 lbs.
Out of: WA

Dylan Clark:
Amateur Record: 0-0-0 (Win-Loss-Draw)
Team:
Age: 21
Sex: Male
Height: 6 Feet. 1 Inch(es).
Weight: 255 lbs.
Out of: OR

I am sorry fans for lack of information on the fighters. My pick for this fight is the Dylan with the upset. I thank you fans for reading my blog. And until next time I am signing out!

Fight #3!

Hey there fight fans geuss what time it is it is time to RUMBBBLLEEE!!!

The next fight you are diving into is the Flywieght Championship. The fighters. You have the holder of the belt David "Man of Steel" Converse facing agianst Jeff Alden. So lets jump into this fight!

First off is the holder of the Belt David Converse. David is 6-1 and corently holding the Belt to the Flywieght devsion. David in his last fight won on a Unanimous Decision in his last fight. Now this fight is big the question is can he hold his belt in this fight. Lets see how he fights. Now David likes to start the fight off fast. With that he usaly takes contrall of the fight. If you are not paying attention you could be hit by a leg of a fist. He is a GREAT stand-up fighter. And on the ground he is the same. He use his speed to get on top of you and from then he will take all contral of the fight. Now his weekness is when he is pinned back agianst the ring and has no where to go. Now people will say every fighter is like David, but aculy only a handful of fighters you will find are like that. I am looking for a good fight from David. I cant wait!

Now for the contender for the Belt is a well known name to the FCFF Jeff Alden. Jeff is coming off a win in the last Rumble at the roseland. Jeff is 3-4-1 in his record and has fought at the Roseland 7 times now. Like David Jeff loves to start the fight off fast! He is a exseclent fighter on the ground all of his wins have be on the ground. He will use his strangh to contral his oppent. And when he is stand he is ok. He has a good looking kick but he needs to work on his jabing. Now his weakness is when he is punched in the gut he will bend down which can lead to a knee in the head to knock him out. I know that this Veturn of the FCFF will put up a good figt fior the Flywieght Championship belt. I looking foward to him fighting.

Now lets see how these guys match up.

Jeff Alden:
Amateur Record: 3-4-1 (Win-Loss-Draw)
Team:
Age: 23
Sex: Male
Height: 5 Feet. 7 Inch(es).
Weight: 135 lbs.
Out of: OR

David "Man of steel" Converse:
Amateur Record: 6-1-0 (Win-Loss-Draw)
Team:
Age: 19
Sex: Male
Height: 5 Feet. 5 Inch(es).
Weight: 135 lbs.
Out of: OR

As you can see these two fighters are both good looking fighters. Now I have to pick one of these fighters. I amd picking Jeff with his strangh I think that he will hold the fast David and win his first Belt! Till next time fight fans I am Jake signing out I will post the last fight on wensday! Till then have a AWESOME DAY!!

Fight #2

Welcome Fans to ITO and it is time to RUMBBBLLLEEE!!! So lets jump in to it.

What fans you are about to jump into is the Welterweight Championship. You will be having Jason Novelli from team quest and Billy Denny from Eugen OR. So lets dive into this fight. First off Jason Novelli.

First up on ITO is Jason Novelli. Jason has a 3-1-1 record. He is a well known fighter to the FCFF for has fought for them three times. This is only Jasons 2nd Title fight that he has participated in. His first fight was against Ben Elgi where he lost in the 3rd round. Now as for his fighting he has a GREAT! take down and does well to control his opponent on the ground. But when he is standing that is a different story. There are times where he is really good then there is times where he can be completely different of it. I am going to expecting a lot out of Jason on this fight. Lets go on to Billy Denny.

Now the opponent that will be fighting Jason is known over then Billy Denny who has a 7-2-0 record. Billy is just now coming off of a loss to well the same fighter that Jason lost to Ben Elgi in the same title fight. Now as for his fighting ability he is a well trained fighter. He is a all around fighter you could say.He is great on the ground with the controlling his opponent and more. His standing game is good but not great. Expect a lot from Billy with his ground control and his ability to fight while standing.

Alright now that you have dived down into these fighters lets see how they match up.

Billy Denny:
Amateur Record: 7-2-0 (Win-Loss-Draw)
Team:
Age: 28
Sex: Male
Height: 5 Feet. 7 Inch(es).
Weight: 170 lbs.
Out of: OR
Born: Eugene, Or

Jason Novelli:
AM record: 3-1-1 (Win-Loss-Draw)
Team:
Age: 32
Sex: Male
Height: 6 Feet. 0 Inch(es).
Weight: 170 lbs.
Out of: WA

As you can see you have the veteran and the rookie competition. It is Billy Denny VS Jason Novelli who will win? I am saying that Jason with the high will control Billy and win his first FCFF title. Thanks for reading next up THE flyweight Title. But that is next time fans till then I am Jake signing out. Have a great a DAY!!

Fight #1.

Hello Fight fans and welcome to the NEW and IMPROVED IN THE OCTAGON!!! So lets jump into the first Title fight. Let RUMBLEEEE!!!!

The first Title fight that I will be covering looks to be a good one. The Fight is for the Lightweight Belt. Now as for the two fighters you have William Hill who is coming from Team Quest. And then you have Ryan Truitt from Washington.

Ryan Truitt is from Washington as I said earlier. He is known as one of the better ground fighters in the Northwest but what has made his name come out is the two Title fights he has fought in. In both of those fights he lost. This is his third title fight in his career. He has a nasty right hand and a good looking take down. He is a good all around fighter. His last fight was other a year ago and was a win. So we don't know what to expect from Ryan he could be rusty or he could be the new GSP who knows. Now his weakness on the ground is Arm Bar or the RNC. Now as for his weakness when he is up and standing is the kicks to the body. Now what I am expecting from Ryan is a lot of high power Punch's and and a LOT of take downs. This is the First time Ryan will be fighting for the FCFF. So the PDX MMA fans will be looking at a All star caliber fighter.

The other fighter that will be facing Ryan is none other that William Hill a well known fighter to the PDX fans. William is coming from Team Quest. Will has fought 7 times in his career and in those times this is his first time facing off for a Belt. Now Will is known for his stand-up fighting he has a good right hook and kick that will make you cry! In his last fight it only toke Will 58 seconds to end the fight with his third TKO win. Now his weakness is the ground play, mostly the Arm Bar. The two times he has lost has because of an Arm Bar. Now when his is standing that is a another story he can body shots but leg shots and head shots are his week points. This is not Wills first time playing in PDX in fact he has played in PDX 6 times. So he will be a fans favorite.

Here is who they match up....

Will Hill.
Amateur Record: 5-2-0 (Win-Loss-Draw)
Team: Team Quest
Age: 33
Sex: Male
Height: 6 Feet. 1 Inch(es).
Weight: 155 lbs.
Out of: OR

Ryan Truitt.
Amateur Record: 3-2-0 (Win-Loss-Draw)
Team:
Age: 29
Sex: Male
Height: 5 Feet. 9 Inch(es).
Weight: 120 lbs.
Out of: OR
Born: Portland, Or

Now these fighters are almost equally matched. My pick for this fight is... Will Hill for he has experience and the way he fights. Fans I hope you have Enjoyed this Blog. Up next to be dived into is the Welterweight Belt! Until next time fans I am signing out. Keep on rolling!

WHAT A FINISH!!

Hey fights fans it is time to jump into ITO for the UFC!!

Earlier tonight Velasquez would be facing Dos Santos for the UFC Heavy TITLE!!!!! So fans IT TIME TO RUMBLEEEEE!!!!

So fans this is the fight of year Junior Dos Santos VS Cain Velasquez and what a fight it would be. To start off Cain would only go for the leg shoots once in while he would go for the body shot but not much. But as for Dos Santos he was every where he was going for body and the leg. This was a one sided fight. But the big factor was how fast the fight was only 64 sec in Cain would go for left hoke to the jaw on Dos Santos but Junior had other fought. Junior would come back with a right hoke that would nook down 240 pound Cain and he would stay down. Junior would pounce like a hawk and get on top of Cain and get 2 Punch's on Cain and then the REF would call the fight off. In only after hearing "Lets get it on" 64 sec in Junior Dos Santos became the new HEAVY WEIGHT CHAMPION!! Thanks for reading the blog fans until the next time fans I am Jacob signing out.

Now last time you heard the name Ryan Harrington he had beat Josh Mecfferson for the Super Heavy Belt. Now he has to hold it against Damoin Martindale. Now this fight would be a good fight in the first round but Only 1:49 seconds into the second round Ryan would not only end the fight but would end in style he would knock-out Damion. After that he would again hold his title. A good win for Ryan.

Now to the second Title fight of the night was for the Bantawieght Title and it was between Cory Vombuar VS Tyler Fryman. Again this fight would be good in the first but in the second round it would end in a flare. Only 1:44 sec in to the fight Corry would get on the back of Tyler and would get Tyler in a RNC (Rear Naked Chock) and would end it there. It would have a happy ending for Cory as he wins the BantaWeight Belt.

Thankyou for reading my blog fans and till next time I am singing out! GOOD NIGHT!

Oh what a night!

Hello fight fans sorry for the wait on the blog I have been very very busy. Also I am sorry to say I was only able to get through a few of the interviews of the fighters so I would like to Welcome you to In The Octagon. Tonight you will hear from some of the fighters that toke place in Rumble at the Roseland 58. So fight fans. IT IS TIME TO RUMBLE!

To start the eventful we go to the 125 weight. We have Alex Corrales VS Marc Harris. It would only take 58 Seconds for Alex Corrales to get in the guillotine and make Marc Harris tap. After his fight I had the chance to talk to him.

"Great win tonight to start off you got in head lock, explain how that happened?"

"Well he shot on me, and I was able to get under his neck. I have been working on the five finger choke it is a little different then a guillotine. You just stick your hand in there and charnk on it, and I got lucky and was able to land it."

"How does it feel to be 2-1?"

"Feels great"

That would end it for me and Alex. He ends the night 2-1 so Congrats to Alex! The next fight would be in the 145 weight fight between Kevin Walker VS Dlyan Atinson. This fight would only go till the second round when Dlyan would get on the back of Kevin and get him in a Rear Naked Choke. That would make Dlyan victorious and I got to catch up with him after the fight.

"You came in this fight short handed you only just found out that you were fighting just yesterday. What came to your mind when you were told your were fighting?"

"Oh shit am I going to lose? ya he was 3-0 and I was 3-0. I could not say he was better then me at that time was a little nerves but I fight to beat the number 1's every day."

"Came in the first round and you guys were close. But in the second round you got in that Rear Naked Choke explain what happened at that moment?"

" I was cutting the angle a Little more because his hips were coming forward every time I went for a leg kick. So I curled toward him. When I tied wasted him he went for a knee bar it looked like. But kinda baled out of it. And left his back wide open. And I jumped on and got the hoke."

That would end it for me and Dlyan. I hope to see him soon at the Roseland. The next fight would be in the 205 weight class. Were I saw Peter New VS Joshua Ryan. It would only take 52 seconds to the fight. And what a finish it was! Peter New would get on the ground with Joshua an got him in to arm bar. Peter New would be your winner!

The Next fight would take place in the 175 weight division. We would see Freddie Bailey VS Rod Jaques. It would come down to a decsion and it was a tie between Freddy and Rod.

The next fight would take us to the 135 weight division were Journy Newson would fight again Jeff Alder. And this one would come down to the wire. With only 1:29 seconds left Journey would force Jeff Alden to tap after a rear naked choke by Journey.

The next fight would be in the 155 weight. It would be Peter Ramsden VS Nate Sarate. It would end in a Unamisuos Desion and the winner was Nate Sarate!

So to start the eventful title fights off it would be for the Middle weight Title bought. It would be John Bartlett VS Josh Hitsman. This fight would would go in to the second round when the umpire had to stop the fight and give ,due to strikes, John Bartlett is your new MIDDLE WEIGHT CHAMPION!!!!

The next fight would be in the Welterwieght Championship with the holder of the Belt Jason Novelli faced off against Ben Elgi. This fight would take three rounds to finish the fight but it would come down to a Rear Naked Choke by Ben Egli that would end it. Your New WelterWeight Champion, By a Rear Naked Choke, BEN EGLI!

Your next title fight of the night would be for the Heavy Weight Championship belt. The current holder of the belt is Damion Martindale and he will be fighting Chris DeLaRocha. Once more this fight went into the second round. Due to strikes to the body the umpire had stop the fight and the winner by Strikes to the boody CHRIS DELAROCHA!!

Our main and final fight of the night is for the Bantamwieght Championship it is Tyler Fryman VS Auston Warner. This fight would go down to the wire. They would go to the Judges Cards. And by Unanimous Decision your Winner and new BANTAMWIEGHT CHAMPION IS......... AUSTON WARNER!! That would end the night for me. The next fight night will be in July 16. Thanks for reading till next time fights I am Jacob signing out.

A night to remember.

On April 23, the FCFF had there monthly fight night at the Roseland. And I had the chance to interview some of the fighters. So it is time to RUMBLE!!!!!!!!!!!

To start the night off it was Stephone Taylor VS Patrich Ryen. Patrick Ryen would win after Stephon did not meet the bell because of a foot injury. The Next fight would be Shawn Smith and Dean Walters. Dean Walters would win with a rear naked choke in the third round. I had the chance to talk to Dean and here's what went down.

"Great win tonight, Are hoping to go for the Belt?"

"It will be down the road I will like to go for a title it would be a little while for I just got back to getting in fit."

"How long has been since you have fought?"

"It has been five years."

I hope to see him again at the Roseland. The next fight toke place in the 145 weight and it was Coby Barns VS Kevin Walker. Kevin Walker would win in a 25 SEC tapout in the first round. The next fight would be Sean Soliz VS Zane Behrend. By split decision Sean Soliz would win I had the chance to talk to him after words.

"Great fight tonight. In the second round you started throwing some punches explain what happen."

"Well when I got on bottom he was tying up my wrist I could not do much I thought I would come out and try a little stand up type in the second and see if I could have any luck on my feet."

That would end it for me and Sean and I know he will be back. I will make this short the other winners of tonight were Billy Denney, Nathan Sarate, Kyle Ellsworth, Jesse Apodaca, Bryne Torres, and last Zac Miller.

But what was the fight of the night was a super heavey weight battle between Josh"Big Country"McPherson and Ryan Harrington. There is a weight difference between these two fighters. Big Country is coming up from the heavy weight to the super weight. And I knew from the beginning that Ryan had this won. Ryan weighs at a weight that Josh could not bring down. But Josh to my surprise held in till the final bell. At the end it came down to a unanimous decsion Ryan Harrington is your new FCFF Super Heavey Weight CHAMPION!

Next fight night for the FCFF is on May 21 I will have more for that night later. I am Jacob singing out. Until next time fight fans this is IN THE OCTAGON!

Wednesday, March 23, 2011

Sorry about the wait.

Sorry fans about the wait. But lets jump in to it! THIS IS IN THE OCTAGON!! In downtown Portland was the Rumble at the Roseland 55 and I got to see it. There were three belt fights that night and I got to see them lets see how they did. To start off the title fights that night were the Fly weight Championship between Shuan Nance and John Heilman. Shuan Nance would beat John in a TKO in the second round by strikes to the gut and ribs. Shuan Nance was declared the winner of the Fly wieght Belt that night. The next Belt fight was Jeremy Jones against Chris Perrin. Chris would take Jeremy down and that would end right there. Jeremy would tap, after Chris got a anaconda choke hold on him. And the fight of the night was for the Light weight belt between Jake Morris and Clint Patterson. Jakes weight would be over the weight requirement, so if Jake won he would not get the belt but if Clint won he would get the belt. I will say this now it was over from the begining. I think for Jake, who brang his "A" game to the fight, showed great potentional. It came down to the final descion and the winner is........... Jake Morris! That would end the night. Now my fight of the night would be the fourth fight of the night when Josh McPherson, who is known to start the fight off with the kick to the head, would go up against Nick Butler. In only six seconds it was over with a left leg hook. Josh would knock Jake out in only six seconds. That is my fight of the night. Next blog will come to you next week. See you then.

Wednesday, January 12, 2011

Welcome.

My name is Jacob Wolbaum and well this is ITO also known as "In the Octagon.". I am starting this blog for the MMA fans and the UFC fans that are in the PDX Area. This blog will be posted every Friday but for today it will be on Wednesday.

The big next fight for the UFC is on the 22 of the January. It is the "Fight for the troops." The main fight for that night will be Even Dunham VS Melvin Guillard. My pick for the match up will be the rookie (Compared to Melvine) Even Dunham. I think that Even is a young fighter that has a better chance at beating the 44-9-3 Melvin Guillard. Even is a inch taller but weights in the same at 155 each. The match will be a great one so lets hope that Even will win.
